Friends of Memorial:

Working Together to Strengthen Our Community

Friends of Memorial are individuals who support the mission and ministry of CHI Memorial with an annual gift to the Foundation. In 2014-2015, the Friends of Memorialare helping cancer patients by raising awareness of the new Cancer Risk and Survivorship Center at Memorial. This center has expanded the multifaceted approach of Memorial oncology services. It will have a triple impact on the way we diagnose and treat cancer patients for decades to come:

Diagnosis: Although Memorial has conducted cancer risk counseling for 15 years, the Cancer Risk and Survivorship Center now offers genetic testing as part of the total picture for early detection and accurate diagnosis of cancer.

Treatment: This center will focus on cancer research, giving cancer patients greater access to the latest treatments for cancer as well as an accelerated number of research studies and clinical trials.

Remission: Once a patient is declared cancer-free, it is often difficult to resume life as it was before diagnosis and treatment. This center provides resources dedicated to address and meet needs that often arise after treatment is completed and a patient is declared cancer free.
